Carol is the President of the Tropical Writers group in Cairns and sits on the board of Arts Nexus. She enjoys working with like-minded people who have a shared love of the written word. Listening to work from poets and playwrights has prompted Carol to try her hand at other genre with outstanding results.
Born in British Guyana, Carol completed her education at Salisbury State High School in Brisbane when she came to Australia as a young teenager in 1967. Her love of writing began at an early age with short stories and articles published in school magazines. She continued her personal writing whilst working in the Public Service in Brisbane. In 1977 Carol and her family relocated to Cairns. She completed a Bachelor of Journalism at James Cook University, whilst writing features, advertorial and sub-editing for a local magazine.
Literary achievements: Carol was commissioned to write the fifty year history of Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club. Our Club: The History of Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club was published in 2007.
