DR ELAINE K. HARDING - WRITER AND TRAINER Dr Elaine Harding is a writer and trainer in Empowering Communications.
Elaine says that she is a perspiring writer. She enjoys a feisty relationship with words - one that keeps her searching for a flavour of nirvana that smells of ancient wisdom stuffed into a few odd marks on the page. Elaine has discovered the freedom from obsessing about what is or is not perfect and is more interested in whatever bubbles up from the depths of unconscious mud. That said, she is now primarily focused on what words have to offer: if they can be used more consciously to create the impact of a really great zen koan. Elaine's writing might be classified as inspirational, creative, spiritual and occasionally with humours attached.
There was a time when Elaine's relationship to language was more serious and less sensual and fun, and that probably reflects on her more than it does the letters who line up to her command. Initially, she wrote for others - in grade school, one of her best marked essays was a lovingly crafted tale describing her indoor silver Persian cat whose real identity was a fierce tiger wanting to escape the doldrums of domestic bliss.
In her early adulthood, Elaine suffered a long stint being institutionalised at university while following her passion for the natural world. Fortunately, she became a disciplined and clear thinker. Unfortunately, her writing became rather narrowly pinned into a taxidermic corner - looking like there was life in it but smelling rather stale at the core.
Now, her primary urge is to ensure life emerges from the page, whether quirky or conventional, with an intention to offer sneaky glimpses into different slices of reality. Elaine's current obsession is to understand our inner potential for natural abundance. Through her own experiences in overcoming trauma and depression, Elaine discovered that western language embodies a belief system that often goes quite unnoticed, but acts as a brake on our true and infinite potential. 'Thrivability' describes this natural state of being, and please remember you heard it here first as you'll be hearing more about it very soon
