John Kemu - Aspiring Writer John (Kemu) Gordon's inspiration in writing his first book came after reading an article in a magazine where he felt the sensitive topic of suicide had not been represented as it should. The emotions, experiences and life traumas gave Kemu the reason to document and relay his version of this universal issue by writing Kemu's Journey.
Kemu's Journey outlines the negative experiences that took him to the point of suicide, the 'poor me' syndrome that held him back and what he did to lift himself out of that dark and destructive place. From Kemu's research he has discovered that one farmer every four days commits suicide and not a whisper in the media. Through his writing and speaking to people he hopes to raise public awareness that this issue is a living reality silently destroying families and people's lives. John Kemu wants the people of Australia and every country of the world to take heed and realise this issue is something on our doorstep and communities.
Kemu's Journey is a book about a true life experience that gives an honest insight about suicide but also encourages hope, strategies and determination. John Kemu discusses the need to talk, the need to have trusted confidantes and a solid community of friends and family. He is definite that often people in our lives are toxic and hold us from going forward. Kemu encourages a raised awareness at all levels. He also urges to reflect on giving ourselves patient recovery time whatever trauma we are coming through and work daily on the knowledge that healing can only come with determination and the deep inner realisation that 'you heal yourself'.
Kemu's Journey by John Kemu is a book to read, reflect on and tell others about. Soon to be released. |
