Paul Innes grew up in Sydney. He began writing for pleasure at school age to entertain his friends and has continued to write through some tremendous life experiences. He enjoys writing.
Paul has worked in theatre and radio until age 20, when he suffered an injury causing quadriplegia. The sweet girl he loved tragically ended her life soon after his accident. Paul came out of hospital for her funeral and never went back. Paul's focus since that time has been to become more health and self-healing orientated.
Paul endured some intense self-directed therapies, which yielded slight improvements. He also founded a rights Incorporation and then moved to the Tablelands and ran a self-sufficient community on his 88 acre farm with 5000 organic fruit trees. Paul's home was used as a sanctuary for a local women's shelter. It was eventually found to now to be a sanctuary for 4 of Queensland's missing frogs. When hosting a Rainbow Gathering, he attracted over 10,000 people to his property, including Federal Ministers, Hollywood Movie Stars and people from the arts, including writers.
Paul Innes has been published in a handful of books, including the first two publications by Cairns Tropical Writers Group. He has done some commercial writing for organisations and now runs a company providing disability services. Paul also does photographic modelling and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
Paul has lectured on community involvement and disability. He invented and built an all-purpose bed/showerchair/wheelchair and works on access projects regularly. Paul is currently working with government and business on a large project. In his spare time, Paul trains assistance dogs and astral travels. He is interested in voice work and hopes to do it professionally. Paul takes no medication for his injury and has been told by his local council that he has the best garden in Kewarra Beach, just a year after moving there.
At age 41, Paul Innes' creative writing work includes a large selection of poems and songs. His writing also includes philosophies and short stories about his life. |
