PROFESSOR MICHAEL FRASER, AM
Professor Michael Fraser, AM is a Professor of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and Director of the Communications Law Centre (CLC), UTS, Australia's independent, non-profit, public interest centre specialising in communications, media and online law and policy. He is President of the International PEN - Sydney Centre.
Professor Fraser is influential in changing policy and practice in Australia and internationally to develop copyright and commerce for creators and the content industries, as well as media and communications policy in the public interest. He established and was CEO for not-for-profit copyright management company Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) for twenty one years, attracting over 500,000 members and 20,000 customers in the education, government and corporate sectors.
Professor Fraser is the Chairman of the board of the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN), Chairman of the Stolen Generations Testimonies Foundation, and a director on the boards of the Faculty of Law, University of Technology, Sydney, the Australian Copyright Council, a Member of the Telephone Information Services Standards Council and a Member of the Steering Committee for the Review of the Telecommunications Consumer Protection (TCP) Code. |
