RONNI LEIGH - ASPIRING WRITER
Ronni Leigh has resided in Tropical North Queensland for close to twenty years within the region of Port Douglas and Cairns. Born in Adelaide in 1960 and relocating with her family on to a sheep, cattle and potato property in the NSW Riverina area in 1968, Melbourne was her destination after leaving school in 1977.
At 31 she made the brave move as a sole parent with her only child to North Queensland where she decided that a remote beach front south of Port Douglas was the perfect location to raise and care for her son, now 27yrs old. Ronni has travelled extensively and enjoys spending time with her family and a diverse group of friends. Her spare time is devoted to managing her beach-front holiday rental property , planning her next holiday, and reliving the 60's era by leisure driving her classic 1960 Karmann Ghia.
An aspiring writer from an early age she would write her thoughts down on paper which helped her struggle with learning difficulties that later was recognised as Dyslexia. Until very recent years she kept this to herself, although throughout her life she moved ahead with entrepreneurial style and grace.
As a young girl coming from a fairly dysfunctional (but loving) family and marrying and divorcing early in her life she was to be left alone to raise a child from the age of 2yrs with no emotional or financial support. Running successful businesses in the day spa industry and having an extensive career in Aviation , life has thrown some interesting scenarios her way. Scenarios that make up the tapestry of her life......and would she change anything if she had the chance - never! "I have gained so much from every experience I have had in my life....many of which have been amazing and perhaps some considered a high risk. In the end the experiences, some also costly, unfolded before me to discover the path to emotional freedom, the freedom to live, love and just be at peace...... no angst , no anticipating the future, just living life like the precious commodity that it is".
From within rendered walls in hues of Ochre and Aubergine of her holiday rental house on the beach is where Ronni gravitated when it was vacant, the times spent there, often on her own was where she discovered the direction to emotional freedom and sublime felicity.
Being introduced to the Book Creators Circle I hope to write my own book in the hope that it may help to unlock the pain in those who suffer as a co-dependant, emotionally or physically abused woman and discover the same freedom I have. I want to help other women to realise that you don't have to be in a relationship to be happy, and never ever to settle for less, it is not a prerequisite to living a wholesome , healthy life! Time spent with my family members, especially my beautiful son, his partner and our Poodles, and my beautiful one and only Sister who I have never had a cross word with are just some of the moments that mean the most when you live a happy and healthy LIFE !
Ronni says about her writing: "I long to write, to be an Author and a role model to women the world over, to guide them by sharing through my own experiences how I discovered the peacefulness of just being happy in my own skin. Learning how to use your mind effectively and live in the present moment is nothing short of cathartic and I can't imagine today living my life any other way." |
