Dr Mary Casolin - Academic Poet Dr Mary Casolin is an Italo-australian academic and poet. She started her academic career at the University of Queensland at St. Lucia and completed it with a Ph.D on the literary works of Carlo Emilio Gadda at James Cook University.
Dr Casolin has completed a post-graduate diploma at the University of Perugia, has a Theological Certificate from Moore College in Sydney, an Associate Diploma of Interpreting and won the State Medal for Certificate Level in Effective Communication(Trinity College London). Dr Mary Casolin has now become a professional poet.
Dr Casolin is the daughter of the proud immigrant parents Basilio Casolin, Cavaliere dell'Ordine di Vittorio Veneto and Luigia Roso, both from Torrebelvicino, Pr Vicenza. She has worked as a teacher, interpreter, university lecturer and poet. Dr Mary Casolin has lived in North Queensland, Townsville, Brisbane and Italy. Her deep love of both Australia and her parents' motherland is evident in all her poetry. Dr Casolin's poetry covers themes from love for her favourite cat to the unending love for her first sweetheart who died as the result of an accident. Her poems take the reader through enchanting olive groves of the Italian countryside, to the jubilation of academic triumph in Australia.
As a literary artist Dr Casolin's poetry never ceases to amaze, entertain and enthrall her audience. Her passion for life and depth of knowledge are evident in every stanza of her work. |
